Frequently Asked Questions

Still in a pickle? Feel free to contact us!

If you are completely happy with the way you’ve been playing, joining is not necessary, but we’d love to have you. Being a part of the club is for people who want to do more than casual recreational play. One huge reason for joining is to challenge yourself through the different events we host, like mini-tournaments, round robins, ladders, and eventually sanctioned tournaments (at reduced cost or free based on membership level).   We also provide our members with player development activities, such as coaching clinics to focus on specific skill areas.  We can help you get to the next level! Our members will also get access to vendor discounts, demo days with paddle vendors, and discounted cost on pickleballs.

Another big part of joining is to facilitate more court development in our city, because we all know how long the wait times can get at Oasis Park. We have already made contact with CSD, and learned that with more funding and members, we will be able to help facilitate pickleball court development and conversion of existing unused tennis courts around Elk Grove.

Our non-profit organization is dedicated to maximizing our funds towards club growth and achieving our goals, such as expanding our courts, enhancing player development, and organizing social events. Once we have covered the essential costs of website maintenance, accounting, and membership support, the membership fees will be used to fund potential court improvement initiatives in collaboration with local municipalities, organizing tournaments in our area, and facilitating social events that will foster a stronger community.

We are in the process of hosting many types of activities to grow the sport of pickleball as well as the overall community of Elk Grove.  We are looking into many ways to bring value to the pickleball community of Elk Grove such as competitive and social events.

These will include:

– Monthly court rental nights

– Mini-tournaments

– Ladders

– Leagues

– Social events

– Official tournaments (pending)

The idea for our club was born towards the end of 2022, and we announced ourselves officially in January 2023. Our founding members, including Randy Seevers, Tami Dokter, Lisa Peck, Burga Pucci, Jordan Tom, and Letty Assad, share a passion for pickleball and have gained valuable insights from other clubs and networking opportunities. We are dedicated to promoting the sport in Elk Grove by advocating for better facilities, providing enhanced player development, and fostering greater social interaction among players. Please join us in our main mission to accommodate the growing popularity of pickleball.

Extreme Heat

When temperatures are over 90° F, players are encouraged to use caution, hydrate, and take things slow. When temperatures are over 100° F, outdoor events will be cancelled or rescheduled.

Smoke

Outdoor events will continue to be held until air quality at the location is above 150 AQI, in which case, the event will be cancelled, rescheduled, or moved inside. High risk groups should use caution and move their games inside when the AQI is over 100.

**We encourage players to use their best judgement. If at any time you feel uncomfortable or unsafe, you should not continue to play. **
